Default SMS Ringtones

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, I have a BB Storm 2 9550 on the Verizon network, the phone has v5.0.0.607 operating system on it (which it upgraded to a couple of nights ago). Before this upgrade I had custom ringtones for sms text setup for different people in my contacts and everything worked fine. Now, the ringtones are still setup like before, but when i receive text it just plays the a basic ringtone. Does anyone else have this problem or does anyone have suggestions on how to correct this? I can change the overall ringtone for sms but not for individuals.
Thanks,
Allen

Allen,
I recently upgraded my OS to 5.0.0.419/4.2.0.179 (Storm 1). I lost the ability to customize ringtones for contacts as well. I'll be keeping an eye out for a solution.

Talking I have a solution for you..

I had the same problem. What you need to do is go into your contacts and remove all dashes and dashes from the phone numbers so you have just a string of numbers. That should fix your problem. It worked great for me.

Scrapndiva,

Thanks for the fix. I'll try it. Did you also delete the parentheses around the area codes (703)?

I had the same issue, and I tried what you said and it worked! Thanks for sharing your idea.
