Hi,

I am sure I could find someone who can help to resolve the issues I have with my BB 9550. I am not able to receive/send emails through my handset. Since yesterday, I'm even not able to get anything while connected with wifi. Prior to yesterday I could only get email when I was connected with wifi. I have an email plan with my service provider. I called them so many time but they didn't help me because it wasn't their phone. Actually this handset is from Verizon which I'm current using for Fido. Since I downloaded the new update everything turned up as a mess.

Your help will be highly appreciated.

Here is the more information, I got the "edge" in lower case which got to be in uppercase. I talked to blackberry guys and Fido guys they could not fix it. I am not sure how I can fix the problem. They said that everything was fine at their end. There could be a handset problem. Any help!!

Your story doesn't add up. You say it is a Verizon device, and you are seeing an idicator that applies to a GSM device?

The 9550 is both GSM and CDMA. Obviously the OP is using it on a GSM (Fido) network.

Try a battery pull. That usually fixes that sort of problem.

I have done everything. Since last Friday I'm doing the same things over n over but handset is neither communicating with blackberry nor with Fido server. I was asked by the blackberry folk to delete the service book which I did but after that I don't have service book in my handset. Fido tried to send me service book but no connection was established so far. Is there any other way we can have a service book back in BB?

Sounds to me like the device is bad. You can check the yellow sticky at the top of the 9500 section for info on service books. It is for using the 9500 series on AT&T and TMO, but the same should apply in your case. Worth a try anyway.

Thank you very much Aiharkness and Dubdub. The problem has been resolved. Dubdub, I really appreciate your proactive approach. Yellow sticky worked for me as advised. I talked to Blackberry and Fido folks but nothing could change . It was not their fault because they know the stuff what they have been told but you guys are really genius . You guys know the stuff with your research, experience and experiments .

In future I will definitely consider your advices before going to my carrier. Once again thanks a lot .

Thanks for the offer. I couldn't afford to pay Canadian taxes, though. I'll stick with USA taxes.
