Talking 9550 Speed and Responsiveness

Please Login to Remove!

I'm a newby to the StormII, and found it locking up from time to time and often slow to respond.

I have come to the conclusion that this is due to a pokey CPU and am doing what I can to liven it up.

1 Removed after market programs that have system hooks or run in the background full time.

2 Disabled data compression - this made the biggest difference.

Are there any other thoughts on how to kick this puppy? Sure wish there was a way to over clock the CPU

Try a battery pull. With the device on, pull the battery for 30 to 60 seconds. Reinsert and let it reboot.

That should clear memory and make things move faster. Speed is also due to your connection and there isn't a great lot you can do about that.

Check out the FAQ for info on maximizing memory.
