Default Blackberry Storm(9530) Screen Replaced lcd won't turn on

Hey Guys,

So heres the story, one of my friends from school cracked the screen on his bb storm so I looked up a video on dis assembly and replacement. It seemed easy enough and the lcd was fine so i ordered the digitizer but couldn't remove the glass from the lcd, try to get it off a little bit but stopped when it seemed like the lcd was cracking, put it back in to see if it would still work and it did the same as below.

So I Figured out the right lcd assembly and ordered it, put it in the blackberry and now only the lights underneath the buttons and the backlight comes on when it turns on.

Have tried reseating the connector and wiping the os, neither one worked.

So is my friends phone dead or is there something else to try?
