What do I need a Data Plan for? - BlackBerryFAQ

You are very limited. You may be able to add items through your desktop manager.

Without the plan you can't. You'll have to find OTA

OTA = "Over The Air" which requires a data plan.

Seokochin, as stated above, you will not be able to download and install applications "over the air" directly to the device. The reason being you do not have a blackberry data plan, which you must have to use the blackberry browser, which you must use to download and install apps over the air, or else use blackberry app world which also requires a blackberry data plan.

You can download some apps to the computer and then install to the blackberry using Desktop Manager, but only provided the developer or vendor provides desktop install files. But the point of a smart phone app is data input and output, you will be out of luck unless you are looking at a standalone app like a game.

go option and the advanced option. you will find TCP/IP.open it. Then enter APN (GPRS access point name) username and password. These information you can get from your mobile service provider.
Try..You can log into internet without data plan.
thanks

But you can't download, as Opera Mini, which MAY work with the APN settings, does not allow you to download. And that was the original question.
