Unhappy using Storm2 in the US with a Rogers SIM card

Please Login to Remove!

I was using my unlocked Verizon Blackberry Storm2 9550 in Canada with a Rogers SIM card but as soon as I got to the US it stopped working. I turned it on and no signal.

So I fiddled with the network settings to allow for different networks (ie. GSM vs CDMA vs auto) but nothing worked.

Has anyone done this before? Do I need to download service books or something to get it to work in the US?

I searched for this subject but didn't find any topic or solution on this.

Thanks!

Just to clarify though, if I wanted to use my Unlocked Verizon Storm2 in the US, I would still have to download the AT&T or T-Mobile service books to it, even though I'm using a Rogers SIM card?

I guess, in Canada, Rogers already downloaded service books to it when since it works fine up here?

Since Verizon has the 9550 here, I believe that is correct. I know it is the only way I have been able to get the 9530/50 Storms to work on ATT in the US.
