Default unlocked 9550 not work with wodafone

I recently bought a blackberry storm 2 from ebay. However it says my sim is invalid. Whenever I turn the phone on I get the message "mep check failed. enter mep code?" and when i answer yes nothing happens. Please help!

Did you unlocked the phone by urself or it was "unlocked" when you bought it?
