9500 Storm cannot connect, does not start up

My 9530 Storm first came up with error "507 reload software" and I followed some Googled advice to load new software, however now I can't carry on due to the fact that BB DTS refuses to connect to my phone to do the update. I've done the remove battery, connect USB, reinsert battery thing, but nothing seems to work. I get the the following screen below:?:

I think the probs is that your USB cable is unable to 'see' both the device and your computer. Now, you may want to try put the USB into another port on your computer while the battery is out of your device and you retry reloading your software.

Check the top of the Blackberry Help section for info on what to do if the device fails to connect to Desktop Manager and the PC.
