Default VZW call me, said NO to Current Customers...

I too, tried many times to pre-order my VZW Tour. Ended up sending an email asking for assistance in completing the order. They actually called me and said "we are sorry, the offer is only for new customers at this time".

Does not get any clearer than that...hey VZW, make it right!

I had the problem you guys were having until last night...or really late this morning. I have been able to upgrade my girlfriend's line with the Tour now. That was at about 12:30est last night. Bypassed my 100 credit though .

Before I got denied by customer service and couldn't do it online

Oh well, im happy now

I was able to successfully pre-order the Tour this morning and I'm a current VZW customer. I went to Verizon's website for the Tour, Verizon Wireless, selected "Pre-Order Now," selected Upgrade Your Phone under "Already a Verizon Wireless customer?," logged in and then took things from there. So, perhaps the glitch was fixed this morning? I have a feeling the phone won't actually arrive until 7/13 (since 7/12 is a Sunday and I don't think FedEx delivers on Sunday's) but at least it's pre-ordered and I won't have to deal with the mayhem in the stores.

I noticed this morning that it said expected delivery 7/13 ... I think I will just wait and pick it up at a Verizon Corporate store. Although it will be a very popular phone, I don't think it will initially sell out.

I was able to pre-order on the Verizon web site today, piece o' cake. Verizon sent out an email late yesterday to advise us that we could pre-order now, and no shipping or hook up charges either.

I got the email also, I followed the link and it said not available at this time. I called customer support and spent 1/2hr on the phone and all they said was it was a legit email and that Ishould be able to pre-order, they are aware and working on the problem. Please try again later.

The more I think about it, I am just gonna hit up my local corp store first thing in the morning on the 12th. Since this device is launching on multiple carriers, I don't think they are going to be out of stock.

Do you have a corporate/organization discount? Probably not.

So for *many* of us this is meaningless/useless.

I have pre-ordered on line from Verizon. Does anyone know when they will ship those orders? Verizon did say they ship overnight at no cost to the consumer.

Default Forget the upgrade, just order the phone new.

I got fed up yesterday and just bought the phone on a new line. I had the verizon customer service rep note on my account that when the phone arrives I will be able to cancel the new service and transfer the phone over to my existing account, and get a credit on my bill for the upgrade discounts I had accrued on my account.

If you are still unable to upgrade through the site, just order a new line and make them reverse it once you have the phone in your hands!

FYI - just got off the phone with our account rep, who happened to be on a conference call with RIM regarding the release of the Tour. He is getting info that the ability to order will show up in Verizon's system before Sunday. He and I agreed we would both keep checking. I hope so because I want mine in my hand on Monday.
