Default Tour Owners Can Use 9700 Tips - 07-23-2009, 01:01 AM

For those of you that are not aware what controls a BB is the type of keyboard and the OS. Most of my Bold tips at Stinsonddog's Blackberry Tips and Tricks(Blackberry Tips & Tricks from the Mods) for the Bold can be used for the Tour. Enjoy and post any Tour specific items here.

You may not know it, Stinson...but your tips are disseminated around the Pentagon whenever BlackBerries change hands and new models come out.

Everyone in D- and E-ring (Deputy Assistant, Assistant, Principals and Office of the Secretary of Defense) print out your tips and put them on laminated business-card size cheat sheets...one of the executive secretaries started it back in 2007 and it caught on like wildfire. The "brains" (read: political appointees) of DoD are required to carry BB's (mostly 8820's on T-Mobile) but don't always know the simplest of shortcuts (like pressing spacebar, or T)

I don't believe there is ANY password attached to the Stinsonddog Tips PDF files. Never has been.

With my Curve (and others) I could hit the "F" key to change profiles. This functionality appears to be missing from the Tour. Anybody find a shortcut for changing sound profiles on the Tour? Thanks!

I've also noticed that when I'm using the Browser, I can no longer press 'D' to go to the main screen like I can on my Curve. I use that shortcut a lot

Yeah and I asked the same thing in another post -- until I learned that you can just press the menu key just a second longer to bring up the app switcher. that will do it for me. You can assign the app desktop on one of the convience keys on the sides if you want too.

Stinsonddog:

Did RIM eliminate the Compose icon on the Tour? I want to enable it but can't find it.

Thanks,

the tour comes with it hidden. it's hidden in some folder. forget which one. do 'unhide' and you will see.
