From Pearl 8130 to Tour 9630

I just got the new Tour and used BBDesktop Mgr to move data etc. from my Pearl to the Tour. This included some shortcuts to websites, like BBForums, npr and my team, The STL Cardinals.

However, when I attempt to click on these icons that were transferred I am getting the message "The protocol specified is not supported by the handheld. Please try a different URL"

The Pearl had the 4.5.0.77 OS and the Tour 4.7.1.40. I am using the browser that came installed on the phone.

Should I go back to the sites on the Tour and re-download the apps or will these not work either on the Tour?

Re-download the apps (shortcuts) and they should work.

Thanks! I tried this and took the added step of removing them from the Tour before downloading. I'm still getting the same error after I downloaded the NPR shortcut and BBWap.

Any other suggestions?

not all apps work on the Tour

Crackberry.com has some good insight on this issue. Many of the apps common on older BBs are not (yet) compatible with the Tour. Be patient.
