Default Tour issues: Almost all Resolved

I also had similar issues with mine. I was familiar with the 8330 and being able to customize the preloaded profiles to your liking. I did a little research on this issue with the tour, and here is what I came up with:

1: The Set Ring Tones/Alerts menu will change your normal profile settings. For example, if you set the volume to 6, that will apply to the "Normal" Profile, and then the other profiles will adjust accordingly. Kind of weird, but supposedly, RIM is going back to the old way of editing profiles in the next OS. Here is an article I found that explains it in a bit more detail..

2: Not sure if there is a way to turn the zoom off in the web browser., i would have to research that one a bit.

3: I originally had issues with this one too and there is an easy way to get those icons moved around. From the home screen, press the Blackberry button, and navigate to wherever the application that you want to move is located. (Let's say you want to move the Calculator to the top directory as i did. You would navigate to Applicatins>Calculator) Highlight the Icon and press the Blackberry button to get the menu. Then click "Move to Folder" and select "Home". Your icon will then appear in the home menu when you press the BB Button.

Hope that helps.....

Jeff

I hate that the browser is always to small on every new page as well. I did learn that the i o or + - keys let me zoom more quickly.

#2: When in a browser window, click the Blackberry button and go to Options. I changed the Default View to Column. The view is better but some sites still require a zoom to see very well. There are probably other ways to tweak it here, too.

#3: On the home screen, click the Blackberry button and go to Options. You can set the folder where you want the downloaded app to reside. If you want all on the Home screen, change it to Home. If you want the option explained by Jeff (elkman1jc), leave it to Downloads and move it after the fact.

Hope that helps.

Hawg Daddy, you got it right. I sort of mis-understood the question, but both ways do work i guess. That is a good little trick.
