Wirelessly posted

So I have google sync installed and have been trying to find the solution but none of them seem to work. I get the error "another sync client has been adding events to the blackberry calendar. To avoid duplicates google sync will not keep these events up to date"

I tried signing out removing it and re installing. I also hate the fact that when I did sign out it sent cancellation emails of events to people I had sent meeting requests for! The weird thing is that I still see it on my calendar in google even if it was cancelled! I sign back in, get my calendar and then have to re-invite the attendee.

Any ideas?

dont know if you are still trying to figure this out....are you using outlook as well? I think you need to ditch one or the other to get that message to stop.

could be wrong though.

Google Sync on OS 4.7.1 is horrendous.
My advice is to avoid it at all costs. Hopefully we'll see an update to it soon.

Google Sync on Tour works fine, and much better than it does with iPhone. Just delete the duplicate contacts in your google account and then re-sync.

Are you using the facebook application? There's a calendar sync that's built into this application as well. It downloads your facebook events and friend's birthdays but it causes the error you're seeing with google sync. I say the error myself and had disable calendar update from facebook application.

Anyone find a fix for this? My contacts seem to sync fine, but the calendar portion is screwed up.

This happens when a calendar appointment is the result of an invitation. Doesn't matter if invitation is from an Outlook client or even another google calendar account. Either way, your phone/google sync sees something besides itself as having ownership rights to that one calendar appointment and thus google sync just leaves it alone and doesn't do anything. Personally, a nice feature - if only all software took the "we're not working together, so i'll preserve your data and back off" attitude.

Regardless, it's frustrating. But, if you want to use google sync and never have to worry about that message, just make sure you're only syncing your phone with google and nothing else. Otherwise, prepare to live with that message from time to time.

The good news: it will only affect those appointments added by another computer you just sync'd to, or from another friend sending you a calendar invite.
