:I connected my Tour to my computer last night to check if there were any core application updates (as there have been three (?) since I bought it the day it came out). I performed a complete backup myself, and also let the application loader do its own backup. Of course, it wiped my main screen image, which others have complained about (minor issue), but I noticed this morning that it COMPLETELY wiped out my custom ringer profiles...which were painstakingly set up to get around the HORRIBLE pre-set "Normal, Loud, etc."
SO, I figured I'll just restore with the backup I created before the core application update. NOPE! That backup did NOT hold onto my custome profiles - despite my device showing "blank" for profiles and my backup file showing "1" for profiles. Now I have to create all my custom profiles all over again (I know, "poor me" LOL)...but that's the only solution that Blackberry can offer in the first place for their horrible profiles in OS 4.7.
The Tour is a "pretty" upgrade to the Curve and OS 4.7 is a nice upgrade from OS 4.5 - but as I've said before...these should be UPGRADES not problems that didn't exist before, no?
I love my Blackberry...but sometimes I hate it so much at times like this that get me so frustrated. This is one of the times that makes me wish I had my Curve back. Love the faster processor...love the faster high speed internet...hate these OS quirks that shouldn't exist.
