Default Unable to Open Certain Excel Documents

Please Login to Remove!

Each day I receive many emails with Excel attachments (daily reports). Sometimes I receive a notification that my device can't open this type of file. Since I can open many other Excel documents I believe it must be something from the sender.

The standard report that I can't open is coming from one of two senders both using Macintosh machines using an older version of Excel. The document has 31 tabbed single pages. It is usually between 100 and 200 KB and is saved with an .xls extension.

If I open this document on any of my computers (Windows XP, Mac OS-X) save the file (even if saving it as an older version) it will open fine. Only when coming from these two older Macs can I not open the files.

Any ideas of what I should check on the Macintosh's that are sending these files? Going to IT for help won't be happening. He's 100% Macintosh and iPhone... BlackBerrys and Windows are horrible, etc.

Wirelessly posted (9530; (I'm mobile) MF231; 35h)

Are you trying to open the xls documents from their Attatchment status or have also tried using DocumentsToGo?

I've tried both ways but get the warning that the device can't open this attachment even before downloading it.
