Default Application permissions

Please Login to Remove!

Hello, new guy to BB and the Tour here:

I haven't been able to locate an answer for this question, so here goes:

When I download a new program, icon, etc., I see there is a checkbox for application permissions. In my limited experience I have ignored it, checked it and saw the proposed permissions, and on occasion clicked the menu button and saved the permisions. Sometimes I just wait until the program runs and then I get prompts for permissions.

My question is what is the proper way to do/check/allow/not allow these permissions?

Thanks in advance

Personally, I never set permissions at install. I wait until I run the app for the first time and set them at the prompts. I had an install freeze when I tried to set 'em before running the app, and never tried it again. The freeze may not have had anything to do with permission setting, but I just skip it and let her run. Then I click Yes and Don't Ask Again whenever prompted.
