Default Automatic Network Selection

I get this dialog box every time my new 9630 boots - never had this issue before.

T-Support is claiming that it's a problem with VZW's provisioning of the SIM, and VZW swears that it's provisioned properly, and it's an OS issue that RIM is responsible for. Grr...

Any suggestions?

Wirelessly posted (Its All About the U!)

When you go to options - mobile network, you have to make sure its on 1XEV.

You may have to dial ##000000 ans under SIP Password, press vzw to make sure it holds

Interesting re: the SIP PW in the MSL options. Will check when this reboot is complete

As far as the mobile netwok options go, that's 1/2 of my frustration. I set it to 1XEV and save it. All is well. Next reboot, it prompts me if I want it to autoselect the network (I say no) and then when I go back into the network options, it's back to Global.

Some phone shave this option and some do not. For selection mode, I use automatic B. I think its area related

Strange fix. Happened by coincidence.

Since RIM kept on saying that 'the SIM card is probably bad' I pulled my 9530 out of a drawer and put my SIM from that phone in. Rebooted, and no message & my settings were still there. Odd. Put the 9630 SIM back in, rebooted, and no message.

Rebooted a few more times, and my settings have stayed and I haven't been prompted.

Wish I understood what was causing it.
