Default Going from Touch Pro to Tour

Please Login to Remove!

I know people have been asking about this phone over and over again. Well im switching to Blackberry Tour from the Touch Pro. I have had a lot of problems with TP I had and now Sprint asked If I would like try the tour out. I been with sprint for oh 13-14 years and love them. On the TP you could flash the phone and do crazy stuff like that. Do people also make roms for tour or anything like that. Or does the Tour need flash make it work faster or whatever. Thanks for your input!!!

There are no ROMs for BlackBerrys. Craziness is limited so people don't destroy their nice, new expensive BlackBerry.

There are custom themes which change the appearance.

Check out the Media forum for information on customizing the BB. Check out BlackBerry FAQ - BlackBerryFAQ for loads of information for new users.

Good luck.

BlackBerrys are not designed to be tinkered with like WinMo devices. Like NJBlackBerry said, you can alter the appearance with themes, and customize it with third-party apps, but you really can't re-write the ROM. Maybe that's why BlackBerrys are so stable.

Just a couple of years ago there were few aftermarket apps for the BlackBerry. You had to find ways to work with what they had, or simply make do without. Coming from Palm devices, I was used to a plethora of third-party software to choose from. But the BlackBerry development community has EXPLODED in the last couple of years and now there's more apps available than you can shake a stick at!

I also had a touch pro with sprint and due to the many problems they offered me a Tour and I took it. I was one of those who flashed my WinMo phones and I had the same question so thanks. I know you can install custom themes and I had a blackberry way back when and was very surprised to see so many apps for the blackberry now. I first there was nothing you could do strictly business I am glad and very pleased with the tour and will never go back to the problem ridden WinMO phones!!!!!!! I got a touch pro in Feb. 09 they replaced it 6 times as of Oct.
