Default How to select points on Google Maps 3.2? - 11-03-2009, 09:57 AM

I've tried reinstalling the program a few times, and threw in a battery pull for good measure, but on my Verizon 9630 running .40 I cannot figure out/get Google Maps to work properly, to allow me to select a point on the map.

In previous versions, there was a little bullseye that could be scrolled around to select pushpins or random points on the map. Anybody noticing the same thing? Have a solution?

Thanks.

Mine works fine. I'm able to scroll around and press the trackball and select any point on the map. The pressing Enter brings up options for the point.

Default I had that same problem - 11-03-2009, 06:04 PM

I had that same problem on my previous Tour. I returned it a week ago because of trackball problems.
I did not have the crosshairs that the previous version of Google Maps had. Also, I noticed that 3.2 had little magnifying glasses (+ and-) in the bottom left corner, as I would expect in the Storm version. I didn't understand why my Tour would have those.
When I got my new Tour and reinstalled Google Maps, I noticed it had the crosshairs so I could select items on layers and points on the map.
The only thing I can suggest is to uninstall completely, do a battery pull, and reinstall from the Google Maps download page.

Thoroughly confused: I uninstalled and reinstalled Google Maps directly from m.goole.com. Found out today that 3.2.1 has been released, and was hoping this was to fix the problem with not being able to select anything on the map, and the prgram still having the icons on the map for touch screen devices. And, nope, with this version I still do not have the cross hairs so I cannot select anything on the map (and it still has the icons for touch screens. I know that the Storm was running 4.7, but I still think this could be fixed for non-touch screen devices. But this is a side issue, and much less important than not being able to select anything). Very frustrating. Am I the only one?
