Ive looked and looked and cant seem to find a way to disable the fact that when you compose a sms , enter the name, number, etc for the "to" line and then it automatically brings up another "to" line..ive always worked around it but my husband seems to (in a hurry) constantly start typing his text message in that second "to" line.........
Is there a way to change the settings so it will by default only show 1 "to" line??

nope, thats just how it works.
you have to press enter twice.
once to go to new "to" line and and again to go to main text area.

I haven't seen a way to control that. It's much like having a 2nd 'To' line when you compose an email.

Just gotta get used to it, I think.

I'm hoping a future update will allow you to tweak that sms composition feature.

The blank, unused "To" line goes away when you send the message.

It goes go away when you choose SEND, but to compose an SMS, you are provided a 2nd To: after choosing the the 1st person you are sending to. You have to scroll down (past the 2nd To and click OK. This is two extra steps to begin typing your new TXT msg.

hit ENTER twiceno scrolling required, just hit ENTER twice.
1 extra keypress, not 2 extra steps. A keypress takes well under 1/2 second. If you are so stressed for time that 1/2 second or less ruins your day then you need more than a BlackBerry

The point is its a feature that's different and there is no option to disable it or make it like we were used to in the past. That's all, no one is stressed over it, lol.
