I'm trying to use the phone as a modem but someone from sprint technical support told me that with the new vrseion of the desktop manager I have to upgrade the plan and pay like 15 dollars more montly but he also told me that with the old version of desktop manager I can get internet using the phone as a modem free. Is this true? have somebody done that?
Thanks

No, it's not true. You have to pay for the add-on from Sprint, since the PAM is not part of the blackberry data package.

If you are having trouble getting it to connect, I suggest you search on "tether" and read the FAQ

tetherberry.com should also be able to help you out. it is about 50 bucks (only 1 time charge) and uses the data from your phone instead of the extra data pack you must purchase through your carrier and pay every month on.
