Problem with msg tones.
 

Ok, just recently got the Tour, everything works fine except one thing.

When I use a custom ring tone for a specific contact, it automatically disables the msg tone from playing while in holster. But if I remove that contact, and put the contact back in without editing the ringtones or msg tones or anything, it will play it in the holster and use my default selected ring for everything else.

What gives? I've messed with everything and can't get it to work at all. I have the latest os update.. It's basically preventing me from setting anyone to a custom ring tone because I have to hear the msg tones due to work.

This is a known issue. It started in .53 and continues in .61.

I have an open case with RIM support on this issue. We use this feature with our users a lot and I have blocked the upgrade via our BES to keep this from happening.

FWIW, it is not broken in 5.0.0.230 :-)

I will advise when I hear back from RIM.

Please keep us posted I have the same issue and I have held back from 5.0 until it is out of beta.

Resolution:
Issue has been identified and sent to development. This should be fixed in a future release of the device software.

What I decided to do was go back to 5.0.0.230. For as few issues as it has, it is the best choice for me.
