Angry Caller ID issue

Please Login to Remove!

I have the BB Tour 9630 and I switched about a few days ago from a Motorola Razr2 and now my caller ID doesn't seem to work properly. Whenever I receive a call, it shows up as 'Unknown Number' even though I have the feature in my monthly plan. It also only seems to happen when I receive calls from a cell phone. I bought the phone from the States and I popped in my SIM card from here, if that makes a difference. I've tried battery pulls, wiping the handheld, updating it, changing a bunch of options but nothing works. I called my service provider but they told me it was a phone setting. I'm out of ideas. Please help me!

I did, that wasn't the issue...

After extensive research for the past week, I didn't find anything until last night. Apparently it's a common problem with Fido and the Tour because Fido is a GSM network and they have a special caller id with 'name display' which apparently doesn't mesh well with the Tour (having both CDMA and GSM capabilities, from what I understood). The previous owner was on a CDMA network as well.

So I called them again this morning and the representative I spoke to said there was no way they could remove the 'name display' part and keep the caller id. Miraculously enough, it began working later on in the day. I have no idea what I did or what they did, if anything, but I'm happy now! Anyways, thanks for all your help.

I'm having trouble with the unknown caller. the "my number" which used to be my old one and now i can't change it and how can there not be WIFI on this! grrr anyway. i'm happy to know another fido customer heh
