Tonight I received the exact same error message after attempting an update of Quick Pull light (I'll get back to that). In a panic following no less than five battery pulls I rushed to the Verizon store before closing, handed my phone to the store's tech who two hours later handed my phone back to me. He advised the phone was shot and that I could have a replacement delivered on Monday. Two hours without my BB is difficult, three days would be nearly impossible. Knowing the power of this forum I found this thread and applied the software re-install instructions provided. Needless to say I'm back in business. Oh yea, I had to install the software twice after i loaded my 3rd party apps one at a time trying to find the trouble maker. After loading the last app, Quick Pull it immediately crashed again.
I want to thank those useful contributors whose dead-on advise got me up and running.
