I have a new Tour 9630 and am able to use my Tour as a modem as long as the USB cable is used. I can get it to work with the Desktop Mgr software (5.0.1.28) and with the SmartView software (2.25.0047.0). I can't seem to get either to work if use only the Bluetooth connection. My Tour shows that I am paired and connected to my laptop, but it won't do the Phone as Modem connection. Any ideas?
Forgot to mention that in control panel>bluetooth that my Tour is listed and under services it shows one entry - DUN on Com9.

I use VZ Access Manager and it works perfectly. Only configured through VZAM software, nothing in any other Windows screens.
