I have some pictures on my media card that I cannot delete. When I go to delete them it says they are "read only" files and won't delete. Does anyone know how to get them off of there? (They are of a friends dog and don't need them, LOL). Thanks guys.

You can always put your Micro SD Card into an adaptor, and use it as an SD card in your computer, then you have full access to all the files as if it was another drive on your computer.

You could also use Roxio to access the card and delete/manage from there.

I'm sure there are also other solutions, but I've used both of those with success.

Leaf Fan is probably referring to the optional media manager module in desktop manager. I advise avoiding it unless for some reason you really need it.

If you can't do what you want from the blackberry, try enabling mass storage mode in media card options and then connecting to the PC and doing you file management tasks with the windows explorer. If you have trouble with that, you could do as Leaf Fan suggests and put the microSD card in an adapter and read it directly on the PC with a card reader.

Is there no way to do this from the phone without connecting it to the computer? I don't have the adaptor. How about just clearing the memory card out anyway? I wanted to delete my songs and photos anyway because I emailed them to myself and I only have a few.

I looked. On my 8820 with OS version 4.5, I don't see a way to change the read-only property of a file. Unless I'm missing something.

I'm chiming in despite knowing that I could be way off base...If you don't mind erasing everything that's on the card, couldn't you just reformat it? Options>memory>"menu key" and choose "format."
