Default 9630

The trackball was ultimately the killer with the Tour and me. Between the wife and me wexxx8217;ve gone through a total of six (6) Tours. In addition I was tired of waiting on the official release of Verizonxxx8217;s 5.0 for the Tour. Traded mine in for a Storm 2, as I couldnxxx8217;t continue to wait on the 9700 either. So far no major complaints with the 9550

Did you carry the BB in your pocket or in the case?

What was the problem with the trackball?

I'm in the exact same boat. I will be upgrading just for the trackpad. WiFi is always a cool feature to have, but in reality I never use it.

I kept it in the case/pouch and purchased a hard-shell protective case and put it on before I left the store. I made sure to keep the trackball clean and used tips suggested by forum contributors. The first two Tours were bad builds as the ball froze permanently and could never be restored. My last one (green dot box) had intermittent freezes, which after a while became a major annoyance.

Yeah the horizontal movement becomes erratic and sometimes freezes altogether. I relegated my Tour to backup (behind a Storm 1 believe it or not) because I got frustrated by the trackball. I did order one from eBay and replace it so it works well, but the Storm has kind of grown on me.

Must have been a carrier thing. I played around with the 9700 tonight and loved the trackpad. It was so smooth. My "only" problem with it is seeing that is has such a high radiation level that it does concern me a bit. Plus if I go from Verizon to AT&T I'd do it for an iPhone. In your case, hopefully a Tour 2 or new Bold comes out soon. I couldn't wait to get rid of the trackball so I traded for a Storm.
