Default HTML E-mail

I recently upgraded to 5.0.0.591. No issues whatsoever. My brother did the same upgrade, and now he doesn't have HTML e-mail. Does someone know how to fix this? I have checked all of the settings that I know to check, and yes, HTML e-mail is enabled. It's like he took a giant step backward to the days of links being scattered all over the screen. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest a battery pull. If that doesn't work, try resending service books.

Battery pull, deleted and resent service books. Same result. One more tidbit of information. He did his upgrade OTA while I did mine via DM.
