I'm having the exact same problem. I also tried it on another tour with 4.7 and had the same error so it was a OS 5.0 problem. Anyone, anyone..

2. Are you using the BlackBerry browser?

To get Skype, go to the VZStart page VZStart from your blackberry brower. Navigate to Get Apps. Find the Skype download at the bottom of the list.

Try ISkoot for Skype
Doesn't use minutes when you calling Skype user is on computer from your BlackBerry.
For calls from ISkoot on Blackberry to ISkoot on Blackberry you will need Skype credits
