First of if there is a better forum for this, can the Admins please move to there.

I've had my Tour since January and quickly became dependent on it. Everything was fine until yesterday when I upgraded the phone software to v5.0.0.591. After rearranging my icons and a few other things found everything worked except....

Caller id.

Prior to the upgrade whenever someone called and there were in my contacts their name, picture (if assigned) and phone number appeared on the home screen. Now after the upgrade only the phone number is displayed. I spent an hour on the phone with Verizon support and then opened a ticket with Blackberry support and spend another 2 hours with no luck.

Here's what they had me do...
Backup and restore my device.
Do a "Security Wipe" and restore
Do a loader.exe /resettofactory

none of this worked.

When I did the reset to factory I entered a contact without restoring anything from my backups and it still did not work. Finally I just ran out of time and had to end the call to take care of some personal business.

The odd thing is my daughter has the exact same Blackberry Tour 9630 and did the exact same updates and she does not have any problems... incoming calls are recognized when they are in the Contact and all info is displayed.

Anyone experience this or have a solution?

Well... I downgraded the software and now it works again. So it had to be something with the software but you got me.

I can't of been the only one that had this problem.

I just downgraded from 5.0.0.591 to 4.71.61, because my bluetooth would not stay connected. I was ok when I had the hybrid version .419

Can anyone help? Since upgrading to version 5.0, when I receive a text message, it automatically goes to BlackBerry Messenger format (which I realize is now standard), but I can't see any incoming texts on the screen, only the texts that I've written.
