Default BES and Gmail Contact Sync - Creating Duplicates

Please Login to Remove!

<I posted this in the main forum, but after a few days - no replies - so I'm trying in a more direct forum>

I try to maintain the same list of contacts in my Gmail account and in Outlook. Both accounts are linked to my Blackberry. My Gmail (via BIS) and my work email Outlook (via BES).

In the past, I have been importing my Outlook contacts into Gmail and vice-versa once a month or so. It's tedious, and sometimes screws everything up. I was going to use something like Google Sync on my Blackberry for this function, but figured I would look into the new capabilities on BIS 3.0 first.

With the recent upgrade to BIS 3.0, I can sync my Gmail contacts into my phone, something my BES has been able to do forever. This is a great feature. However, now I have two entries for everyone. I have a "John Smith" linked to my BES and a "John Smith" listed to my BIS.

I feel like I'm adding/editing numbers several times a week, and it's ridiculous to add/edit them twice. However, I can't think of a better way to keep both address books in sync. Does anyone have an elegant solution for this?
