Can anyone help? Since upgrading to version 5.0 on my BB Tour for VZW, when I receive a text message, it automatically goes to BlackBerry Messenger format (which I realize is now standard), but I can't see any incoming texts on the screen, only the actual text comments that I've written. I like the rest of the upgrade, but this is frustrating.

If you reply, and hopefully it's just an SMS setting that I am missing, I can't reply back until after work tonight...can't take my phone into the office. Sorry. :(

You linked the contacts in BBM.

Go to BBM. Open the contact. Press Menu. Select "Remove Contacts Link". Repeat as needed.

Okay my daughter is having this problem with her Tour after the update but she tried the above advice and it did not solve the problem.

So is there something else that can be done or do you have to turn the phone off and back on before it recognizes not to link the contacts?

She is only having this problem with one person in her list that has a BB. She is not having the issue with any other contacts with a BB.

Describe exactly the issue she is having.

When she sends a SMS text msg to one specific contact it comes up in that person's BBM and then when that person responds to her it comes in her BBM and SMS. She made the change you had mentioned earlier to the other poster but it did not fix the problem for her. So basically all SMS text messages she sends to only one of her contacts comes up in their BBM and when this one person responds it shows in her BBM and SMS but only BBM is starred. However, if this friend initiates a SMS txt even though he sends it from SMS, it comes up in her phone under SMS and BBM but again BBM is only one starred.

However, when she sends me an SMS text message or I send her one, it comes up in her SMS text message box like it should. This thing with SMS text coming up in SMS and BBM only happens with the one friend and no one else.

That's weird.

Is there anything different about this one contact from the others?
Has she tried deleting the contact from BBM and then adding the contact back to BBM?
Has the contact changed their BBM settings? (Not that that should affect her BlackBerry but it will affect what that user is seeing.)
Does she have her SMS/MMS combined with her Messages icon or separate?
Did she uncheck the box to keep the BBM messages out of the Messages application?
