Default Appointments and Time Zones

Is there are way to keep the appointments in my calendar from adjusting to changes in the time zone? I'm in the Pacific time zone and when I make an appointment in New York for 8 a.m. eastern time, it shows in my calendar as 5:00 am while I'm on the west coast. Then it changes to the the correct time once I'm in New York. I would like to just enter it in my calendar for 8 a.m. and have it stay that way wherever I am. Is there a fix to that?

How do you have your settings configured in the time settings?

Options > Date/Time

Well ....... it would seem that if you DON'T want the Time Zone change, then you should turn the Auto Update Time Zone to OFF ....

Thanks. I was hoping I could have the clock update to the correct time zone without it changing all of my appointments, but maybe that's not possible. Outlook on my laptop is able to do that.

Nope. The appointment times are tied to your BlackBerry time.
