Default Blackberry Bold 9650 in Canada.

I was wondering if I was able to get my hands on a Blackberry 9650 when it comes out in Canada. Am I able to use it with my current carrier FIDO Solutions?
I understand that Blackberry 9650 is a CDMA and Fido doesn't support CDMA. Do you think I should get the Blackberry 9650 when it comes out in Canada for GSM networks or should I just get the 9700. I've never owned a Blackberry before and I want the newest Blackberry Bold which is the 9650. I feel as though if I get the 9700 it would be outdated by the 9650 when it reaches Canada. Since the Blackberry Bold 9650 says on the blackberry site that it supports networks GSM and since Fido is GSM and 3G am I still able to use it for Fido if I get one from the States?

Thank you very much.
