Default Unlocking BB9630??

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there

I have a friend that purchased a BB Tour 9630 in Singapore. She lives in south africa. The mobile operator in Singapore was Sprint. In South Africa, she is using vodacom.

She is unable to use her BIS functions due to the phone being GSM locked (according to vodacom tech support).

I have done an OS upgrade to V5.0.0.624
I have activated BIS with the network operator.

The BB randomly but seldom works I.e the BIS functions on the phone works.... The phone also displays "Activation Required" on the home screen.

Any ideas? How do I unlock the phone or fix this problem?

Thanks

Was it a used device? If so the previous owner must be contacted and then close their BIS account with their cell carrier.

Sprint in US sells their 9600 unlocked on the GSM side. If you need an unlock code, contact our sponsor Horizonwirelessonline.

Do you have a BB data plan? You need that for BIS to function and to access all for the RIM related services. That will fix the "Activation Required" problem.
