This evening my phone shut off when it had half a battery left. I attempted to turn it on multiple times, and nothing happened. So, I plugged it in. However, when I plug in the phone, the normal blinking light does not come on, and I am unable to turn on the phone. I have been charging it for two hours how, and all that is on this screen is a picture of an empty battery with a red X through it. I have tried different batteries with the same result. What's going on?

How are you charging - wall outlet or via a USB on your PC?

If using a laptop, some will stop charging when the laptop "goes to sleep". And is you are using the USB, try via the wall outlet, and vice versa.

It could also be a battery failure or the USB port on the BB has failed or is otherwise broken.

I have tried both the USB cord and 2 different wall chargers. I let it charge over night when I was sleeping and it still won't turn on.

And it still will not turn on. When it is not hooked up to a charger, there are no lights and it won't turn on. When it is hooked up to the charger, it has a red light for a couple of seconds and then the empty battery with the red X over it pops up. The same result happens with both batteries, with the battery out, and with my car charger, two wall chargers, and the USB.

Sounds like a hardware problem then. Did it get wet or dropped?

If not, then I would take it to a Verizon store and have them check it out. If it is still under warranty, you might be able to get another one.

The same thing happened over the weekend with my Tour. Plug in your Bold, remove the battery, wait approximately one minute and then put the battery back in (all this with the phone plugged in). Worked for me and I haven't had any further problems.
