Default How to retrieve old email from newly set-up POP email account?

Please Login to Remove!

I can't seem to figure out how to retrieve old messages from my POP email account I just set up on my BB Tour - it receives new messages, but not the old ones on the server....

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!

Welcome to BBF!

Using BIS, you will only get email from the time you set up the account. Can't go back and get old mail. If you really need it, you will have to send each one to yourself.

With *some* email accounts you can fool the BB into identifying old messages as new and have them forwarded to your BB. I do this often on my MobileMe (Apple) email account when I delete something and later decide I want to have it back.

I mark the email on my computer as unread, then drag it back from the trash into my inbox. After a few minutes (up to 15 minutes) the RIM servers poll my account and discover the "new" mail. It then gets forwarded to my device as new mail.

In my Messages folder the mail shows up with the time it was found by RIM and resent to my device. But in the email itself it shows the original time.
