I am having a major problem with my 9630. I am trying to set a custom alert for when my wife and daughter text me. I have changed this 5+ times and it will not work. I also get Twitter updates and that profile did change. The only problem with that is it goes off all the time. No matter if I set the alert as vibrate all, silence all, phone only....you name and it still keeps ringing out loud. Any ideas before I take a F'in hammer to this thing!!!

What OS version are you running?

In the Contact Alert, do you have the volume set to "Active Profile".

I also have a Sprint 9630 and don't have any issues setting the contact alert. I see in your profile you are on 5.0-are you hitting menu/save after making the changes?

Yes, have tried this over and over. I set it, get my wife's phone and send a txt to myself and it alerts me using the alert I have set for msg/level 1 msgs and not the custom alert

TRY, removing all punctuation from her phone number. Reset the custom text alert and see if it works now. Don't forget to hit Save.
