Unhappy No Email on Verizon's Bold

I cannot configure my email setup the way I need to on my new Bold.

I want to send under a favorite address, but need to use a specific mail server that requires sender authentication and preferably uses Port 587.

BIS email setup no longer offers the Incoming and Outgoing mail server fields, the Port field, or the ability to require sender authentication. It assumes that my server is the same as what appears in my email address.

I have spent hours on tech support with Verizon's BB support department and still am not receiving email on my phone. They finally suggested I needed to contact RIM for more advanced modifications of email settings than Verizon has available to them.

This is a personal, not business, email account. Has anyone else run into this problem? I don't want to have to stop using a BB. I was able to configure email the way I wanted it on the BB Curve8330 I just switched from.

Moved to a more appropriate section.

And we are in no way connected to RIM. this forum is run by volunteers, all BB enthusiasts and users.

Are you trying to configure using the BIS website or via the BB itself? On the website, if you select manual setup or something like that, you can play with some of those settings, but not the outgoing server as they all use the carrier/RIM.

I would assume that if you had it running on the previous BB, by changing the PIN and ESN to the new one, everything should be the same.

Verizon and I have tried to configure using the BIS site and on the BB itself with no success. The sales/tech person I worked with in the store tried to change the PIN and ESN to the new one, also without success.

Thank you for your suggestions. I've searched BB FAQ and don't Tweet. Stinsonddog's Tip Site is unfamiliar to me.
