Bold 9650 OS 6 No Homescreen Shortcuts

Does this new version have home screen shortcuts?

phone>options does not have a Dial from homescreen (Yes / No) option. Was this feature removed fromt he 6 OS?

Found it. Menu>Options>Launch By Typing> Select Applications Shortcuts

I am still unable to dial from the home screen
