| OK... so with all this talk about *when* the Onyx/Bold II/9700 will be released, I see nothing but talk of AT&T. Anyone hear rumors/word on when we might see it on Verizon? I have a contract up for renewal and am torn between going for the Tour or waiting for the 9700.... but I can't wait forever. | | Offline

| No c'mon really... I've had an HTC XV6800 since February 2008... or I should say, I've had 6 of them. 4 hardware issues, 1 software (and once I dropped it and smashed the screen). I've been waiting for my renewal to come up so I can get something faster than WinMo and that won't break just because I plug in the charger and the pins break off. So yes, I "could" wait... but I don't really want to. So any news on VZW? | | Offline

| Ah, well that's a different story then. However, I'm afraid I have no news to offer.

There is a party in LA on November 3rd...

Sadly, I'm feeling the Bold2 launch will be similar to the original Bold. AT&T is very strict when it comes to their technical acceptance standards, and they haven't found a build that they are satisfied with yet (.300 last I heard). So once it passes TA, then you can look for a release date. Either T-Mobile found a build they liked or are just moving forward with a launch regardless.

| BBSwany, thanks for sharing. What were the details of the Bold launch? I don't recall. If I am not mistaken, the launch was not pretty and delayed,
I guess it's a good thing that AT&T is very strict when it comes to their TA standards. Bad thing is we have to wait longer | | Offline

| As I recall they had various VIP Bold launch parties in NYC/LA/SF, etc and babes paraded around with finger foods and people got to play with the phones and call each other and party. Each person got some card that let them register online to get a free Bold asap. Then the website wasn't up and the phones didn't come in for like a month or something. It was as bad as Verizon yanking all the Storms off the shelves the night before the launch because the OS had "security problems" and they flashed the buggy old beat up OS onto the newly released phones and came up way short on deliveries. Nice start.

| Considering that RIM the honoree for this year's COMMOTION/6th Annual Design Exchange event on October 24, I wouldn't be surprised if the release is very, very soon. DX GALA | | Offline

Add in build after build that was rejected during TA and you have yourself the original Bold launch. I think that's why we haven't seen an AT&T branded device yet.
