Default October 26 - another speculated but wrong release date

Please Login to Remove!

All the rumuors drifting through the internet about an October 26, 2009 release date for the 9700 are false. The stores don't even have dummy kits yet and customer service has not even been trained on the devices. I was told by our corporate sales rep that if it definitely will not be in the next 30 days....arrgghhhh

Wait a minute... you were the one that fairly recently said it was coming out on the 26th. And now you want to throw stones at someone for posting rumors? Odd.

I passed on the info I was told and still believe it to be true. Clearly the OP believes his info as well. Neither one comes with a bankable guarantee. That's my point.

Who really knows the exact date....none of us do, just speculation. All I know is that it is impossible to be released next week if the stores have not even got any dummy units or information and the customer service reps at Rogers have not even received any training on it. This kind of coincides with what Rogers had told me last month, that the 9700 would not be released this year. Who really knows. My guess is late November into December.

I remember this too..

BlackBerryForums.com : Your Number One BlackBerry Community - View Single Post - 9700 coming to Bell and not Rogers this year

It was posted a bunch of times. Also, the 8900 and the Tour are the same device

I just hit my head on the desk and had a dream - the 9700 WILL be release 10/29 at 3:03 pm for people with the last name A-M and on 10/30 at 3:10 for people with the last name N-Z.

I confirmed this with MULTIPLE kiosk workers at the mall.

There's as much scientific data and factual reasoning to that as any so far.

The article published in this thread FROM RIM, states "beginning of November".
So this is anywhere between the 1st Nov to the end of time.

Ive looked on the vodafone UK website and can only find the Storm 2 for pre-order.
Can you give us a link for the 9700 pre-order?

Never mind, managed to find it:

Vodafone site: "Order yours today and we will aim to deliver from 28 October."

That now sounds like from October 28 until the end of time....

I reckon its a case of "this is when RIM said we'd get units in; we all know what can happen, expect it to be late"

Assuming you are not from the UK, how do you plan to get it unlocked?? I ask because I am considering ordering as well.

With a post like "its available in the UK and ive just pre-ordered mine" i think you would usually assume that the user IS in the UK.
