Never. the 9700 is a GSM device.
They may be a 9730 for CDMA networks such as verizon, but there hasnt been any rumours to that affect; and they have just launched the Storm 2, with the Curve 2 (8530) due this month and the Tour 2 (9650 i believe) early next year.
