Trying to sync contacts with Google Contacts - Help
 

Actually, I'm trying to keep my contacts up to date between my work and home computers...both Macs. BB DM for Mac is a waste, so I'm trying to use Google Contacts (GC). My issue is that between my BB and GC I can't seem to sync Groups even though they both match. I put Bob in my Family group in GC, do a sync but he doesn't show up on my BB's Family group. I try the reverse with someone else and that doesn't work either.

Any thoughts?

Google Sync seems to not work 100%. I sync my Blackberry Bold 9700 with my Google contacts using Google Sync for Blackberry and I will sometimes get very strange results. Sometimes on my Blackberry, I will see 2 or 3 repeated contacts and only 1 contact appears in my Google Contacts. When I delete these "duplicate" entries on my Blackberry and leave only 1 entry on my Blackberry, during the next synchronization, the contact is removed from my Google contacts as well as from my Blackberry (when I had kept 1 copy of the contact on my Blackberry).

I recommend Thinkpost.net for this - works great on multiple computers with high accuracy.
Google is very spotty at best.

make sure you do not have Mobile Backup turned on also.

I don't believe that I have Mobile Backup. I checked in my "Options" and I don't have "Mobile Backup" (unless it is supposed to be somewhere else).

When I upgraded to a new beta OS, Google Sync duplicated one of my contacts 1500 times! I had 500 other contacts (several of those containing two or three duplications), and then one contact 1500 times. I deleted them on gmail (computer) and the next sync took them off my bb.
