Default Help! Problems with my new Blackberry Bold 9700

Just recently purchased a new Blackberry Bold 9700, and love it. But i'm have problems with various internet based things. For example, i cannot connect to the internet, or set up an email account eventhough i have the Blackberry Data Plan. Lower case ' gprs ' appears next to my signal bars on the top right of the home screen, is this anything to do with it? I have also gone onto the Host Routing Table, and have tried registering, its comes up with "messege sent" but nothing happens! I really don't know what to do, any advise would be greatly appreciated.

If it shows "gprs" then it isn't finding the BlackBerry network.
Contact your carrier and make sure that the account is set up properly.
