Default 9700 memory boost and network acceleration?

Please Login to Remove!

Since my 8220 Pearl Flip often seemed sluggish, I added a memory boost app and a network accelerator. To be honest, I'm not sure they did much, but I at least felt I was doing my part.

My new Bold 9700 seems more responsive, at least after three days' use. Still, I'm wondering what experiences others may have had with performance-enhancing add-ons like memory boosters or network accelerators.

Thanks.

What sort of "network accelerator" did you add? On an 8220, not much you can do to make EDGE faster.

Also, what is a Memory Boost App (since the 9700 has 256mb, that may be a boost right there).

Network Accelerator (or so claimed): Wireless Booster| NetworkAcc Wireless Network Booster for BlackBerry and Smartphones | eMobiStudio

Memory Boost:Boost Mobile Phone | Boost Cell | Buy MemoryUp Pro Mobile RAM Booster for BlackBerry and Symbian Smartphone | eMobiStudio

Like I say, I don't have benchmarks to prove that these apps do anything. I *think* I felt a slight improvement in responsiveness, but it may have been wishful thinking.

Memory Up does do something for a Pearl. I used a few Geocaching Apps on my Pearl. They accessed databases over of over 400meg and on occasion locked my Pearl. The databases, map program and browser all running and Memory up handled it all. After I tried Memory Up they were speedy and never locked up again. I have never tried it on my 9700.

As fo the network accelerator I don't know.
