I'm on BES and often bump the lock button since it is the entire upper left corner of the phone. It's a pain to have to re-key my password all the time. Is there a way to disable or re-assign it?

Haven't found one; unless you hack the OS. Work Around: I bought a clear (smoke colored) hard plastic case for mine. Protects it in a fall, looks cooler and makes the Lock button just a bit harder to press by accident (or impossible to press by accident really). You can buy them on ebay from $5-$8 dollars. VERY easy work around and it protects the BB from short falls and scratches.

I already dropped my once in the clear case on concrete. The case 'separated' and took the impact from the phone. The phone wasn't even scratched!

If you're on BES, there could be a policy to auto lock your phone...

There is but I set the time out for an hour. I just don't like bumping the button.

i don't have a solution for you, just came to post about the same thing.

although, i am on BES and i dont have a password on my phone, i just press the lock button to unlock. however, when it is in my pocket, sometimes the stby button gets pressed and the phone goes into stby mode. i hate taking it out, holding stby button and then i have to press the unlock button.

i liked the recessed buttons better.
