Default Unlocked BlackBerry

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there,
I bought a BlackBerry Bold 9700 in Canada and then moved to the UK for work. When I got here, I had my phone unlocked and now use a 3 Mobile SIM card in it. It works, however I am still receiving roaming charges from my provider in Canada, Bell. I have tried different things and even though it says 3 at the top where the network is, the BELL logo still comes on when I turn the Berry on and off, and when I go on the browser.

Any help?

Thanks!

The Bell logo will come up when turning on the phone; because the phone is from Bell.
This doesnt change just because you unlocked the phone.

Ok cool. Even when I go on the browser, just because the Bell logo comes up it doesn't mean I'm being charged by them?

I've had the phone unlocked, changed the Network Selection Mode and the APN settings. Is there anything else I should do to prevent any other charges from Bell?

Unless you have a Bell SIM in it, you can't be charged by Bell.

Might also talk to 3, if you haven't already. I understand they are a bit picky when it comes to which phones to allow on their network.

Wirelessly posted

Regardless of the carrier the phone camps with at any given time at any given point on the surface of the planet the ONLY carrier that can charge you is the carrier the SIM card you're running belongs to.

Relax, you see Bell when you turn on/off because it's a Bell branded handset. 3 is your carrier for as long you keep the 3 SIM in.
