I recently got my hands on the new Blackberry Bold 9700, I've had the iPhone 3g for a while and now I'm torn on which phone to keep using, I can still return the BB but would like some advice if that is the right decision. Below are my general uses for my phone:
1) Email - like the way gmail gets sent to the phone quickly
2) Calendar - like the way BB alerts you to new events, can hear the alert if in a different room
3) Games - what can I say! Can't touch the iPhone for this, that is what is
making this decision so hard. Will BB apps get better?
4) Today screen - like to see on the home screen what is going on today
5) Like the ability to customize the blackberry

Browsing is not that important since I'm in front of a computer a lot anyways so I can live with the BB browser (they have a new one coming in June)
The main problem I have with the BB is it is sometimes tough for my eyes to see what is on the screen, guess I'm used to the iPhone sized screen. But on the other hand the battery life is so much better on the BB then the iPhone that I don't have to worry about playing music or a game and my battery draining on me. I know I would regret sticking with the BB and then the new iPhone comes out in June or July and I can't get it. Should I wait and return the 9700 or wait for the new BB browser and rumored 6.0 OS to come out or return it and revisit this in June or July when both new things are out?

Gotta be your call on this one. Being that this is a BB Forum, my guess is the vote will go in favor of the BB.

I kept both. 9700 for work, iPhone for play.

Of course you have to lose the iPhone because iPhone is gay :p this is a blackberry forum so everybody here is using a blackberry. I self am using the Bold 9000 but hopefully this week I get the 9700.

Seems you've already answered your own question. It's really not that important if you carry an iphone or a blackberry or a motorola startac in your pocket. What's important is to be able to utilise your device successfully in order to accomplish the production task needed. Prioritise your needs (being email,productivity suites, applications pool, navigation apps, performance, entertainment, social networking, gaming, etc) and see what performs the best on what's more important to you personally.

Opinions on suitability would skew towards the blackberry side in a blackberry forum for obvious reasons.
