I just downloaded the mapquest free app so i dont have to pay for at&t navigation but i just wanted to make sure that if i use the mapquest app and the gps works on it, will i still have to pay extra on my phone bill?

The use of GPS on a phone connected to the at&t network is and always has been free. You need maps ("data") for the GPS to be of any use... and Google Maps, MapQuest or BlackBerry Maps provide that data as a part of the BB data plans... at&t charges for the convenience of turn-by-turn navigation via the navigator app. So if you are NOT using the at&t navigation app and you have a BB data plan, there is no additional/monthly charge for GPS and maps.
